Meet This Film Nerd
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana; Riley Robbins has been a filmmaker from the time he could hold a camera on his own. He moved to Los Angeles 13 years ago with a vision in both his mind and heart, and has maintained that vision with each and every step on his path.
Unlike a number of directors who can come off as trite or pretentious, Riley prides himself on being a down to earth and humble human being before anything else. This shines through in his work, with an emphasis on connection with both cast and crew. After all... isn't pure, honest emotion and connection what film is about?
Robbins has completed over 600 fashion films, music videos, short films, commercials, and documentaries. He has been trusted to direct projects with Pharrell Williams, Vogue, Lee Daniels, Karl Lagerfeld, Nike, Adidas, Dolce & Gabbana, A$AP Rocky, Rick Ross, Playboy, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and more.
Following the path of directors such as Spike Jonze, Antoine Fuqua, and David Fincher, Riley Robbins will utilize his wealth of experience behind a camera and managing sets to make features that both push the envelope and tell genuine stories.

Riley believes that a director is not about what equipment he has, but is the sum total of his life experience. He draws on the fabric of his life to tell stories that are vibrant dances between his actors, the characters they portray, and the audiences that witness the movements contained within. The most important thing for him is to have people's hearts and souls moved by the art, to help them examine things from a different angle, to give them a glimpse into another world.
Riley's priority is to create spaces where actors/actresses can shine their light the brightest. He is truly a friend of the actor, realizing that a genuine positive relationship between director and actor will make the film the best it can be. He always hopes to forge a friendship with the actors that extends far beyond the film.
As a Black man, Riley Robbins understands the full scope of those who blazed the trail he is currently on. He does not take anything for granted, and will make it his life's work to continue adding to the tradition of powerful and moving cinema.
